About Boldface Design
Since 1996, we have been doing high-end branding, print design and website creation.
In 2006 we relocated from the new tech mecca of Washington, D.C. to beautiful Boulder, CO, a town that celebrates its healthy lifestyle and robust start-up community. Our work has expanded to include much more consumer goods and services (B2C) in addition to our extensive background in business services (B2B).

Our clients have included both Fortune 500 companies and small businesses, nonprofits and government agencies. We’ve created a logo for Mt. Everest climber / professional adventurer Sean Burch, and the design of this book for tae kwon do master Jhoon Rhee.

Carolyn McHale, Art Director / Designer / La Jefa
Carolyn’s background includes branding, web and print design. She’s constantly updated and refined her web design skills which include eblasts, banner ads and social media graphics in addition to user interface design (UI), wireframing and prototyping and WordPress site development.
Some of Carolyn’s design achievements include winning the popular vote in NBC’s contest to design the ski helmet for U.S. gold-medalist skier Lindsey Vonn and designing country music artist Vince Gill’s High Lonesome Sound website.
Her volunteer design work includes the HERA Foundation, which holds climbing fundraising events to fight ovarian cancer, and Girls Education International, who send girls to school in Pakistan and Liberia.
Carolyn has shaken Jimmy Carter’s hand, climbed rocks in Majorca and owned the coolest cat, ever. She speaks bad French (and worse Spanish), but makes a mean bowl of chili.
Nathan started doing development work with Boldface when he moved to Colorado in 2013. He likes snowboarding, climbing and biking, but he loves a really great stout.
Daughter of a Brazilian Diplomat, born in DC, and having called 7 different countries home, Cristina Twigg (call her Twigg, please) is a copywriter who can generate results. It was her ability to manipulate words that got her noticed during her days as a Junior Copywriter. She’s been at it ever since working her way up to Senior Copywriter, articulating the needs of clients in a range of industries including new tech, media, pharmaceuticals, and food & beverage.
Now, with over 7 years of copywriting experience under her belt, she’s written websites, launched new campaigns, built social media presence from nothing, written web/phone applications, and pitched TV commercial ideas (one deemed too “risky” by Pharmaceutical executives). She’s also written her fair share of blogs, newsletters, and highly-technical video scripts.
Twigg’s an independent worker with excellent communication skills, who’s always eager to take on a new challenge. Pair that with a powerful imagination and an ability to foster camaraderie and team-love in the workplace, and you’ve got yourself a copywriter you can count on.
